Welcome to another of Sup Melbourne’s Beginners Skills Session with Sharon Bourke (Supfit Sharon)
This session will be held at Royal Brighton Yacht Club Brighton on Sunday 2nd April 2023 starting 08.30am sharp. Please allow plenty of time to park and set up your boards. Unfortunately, we are unable to hold the session at Altona beach as planned due to several beach events being held on the Sunday, however the water in front of the Yacht club is ideal for beginners. There is plenty of paid parking but you can always drop your board off and park in one of the side streets.
Ticketing for this event will be open for bookings at 7pm on Thursday 24th March. Please note if you have already attended a skills session, please allow our other members the opportunity to participate in this session.
Sharon will be covering the following skills on the day
*Demonstration and explanation of location, conditions, equipment and technique.
*Demonstration of basic paddle strokes and correct paddle technique.
*Demonstration in the safety of carrying a board including entry and exit of water, mounting and dismounting.
*Transition from knees to feet, body balance and posture, falling safely from a board and getting back on in deeper waters.
* Pack a spare change of clothes
* Clothing to wear on the water ideally will not hold loads of water when wet, lycra, nylon,
* Leg ropes (are a mandatory item)
* And most importantly – be prepared to have heaps of fun on the day and receive expert tuition from Supfit Sharon
