08:00 – 11:00
Paddle and Scones Fairfield Boathouse Social Paddle.  Saturday 25th Jan 8am launch.  Starting at Yarra Bend Boat Ramp just near Corben Oval, we’ll paddle up to the Fairfield boathouse for morning tea, before floating back down the river to our cars.  Medium fitness needed for this paddle. Expect about 10kms of paddling all up.  It is a 5km paddle upstream to the boathouse. It’s not a hard or strenuous paddle, just a bit longer than usual. The return paddle is much easier, as we have the flow of the river to help.  There is lots of parking just meters from the boat ramp and lots of grass to set up your board.  We launch at 8am, so please arrive early to set up.  You must have a leg rope for this paddle.

Sandridge Beach
08:00 – 13:00
SUP GAMES DAY…. No. 2!  Date: 18th January 2025 confirmed Join us for our second crack at a fun social day of SUP Games and fun on the water. Unlike our usual social paddles, the SUP Games will be held close to the beach where falling in is highly likely. Sandridge beach will continue to be our playground. This is members only event, but you can invite a friend to join you. Further Details: Time: 8:30 to approx 1pm (you can leave anytime) Meet: Sandridge beach on the sand in front of the Surf Lifesaving Club. About the paddle: The SUP games will require you to use physical actions that are required to maneuver your board. The day will be loads of fun and you may choose to engage in the games or you could sit back on your board and just watch. Fitness required: Medium level fitness is required, as there will be balance and quick movements on the board. Some speed may be required for the activities that involve racing (but it’s all in good fun we don’t care who wins or loses). I suggest warming up those muscles first so no one does an injury! Safety gear: Inflatable boards are preferred, but you can bring your hard board if need be (inflatables are softer to fall on and for collisions). We’ll have both our club iSUPs there for anyone to use. I can also bring my spares. Everyone must have a leg rope. Life jackets are optional for persons 12 years and older. Children 11 years and under MUST have a life jacket on at all times. Parking: Parking is available in the carpark or just alongside the road on The boulevard. Some of the SUP Games we might play: -Pick up a passenger race (rescue a friend) -Pass the ball game/beach volleyball (a team game) -Board run (run across boards) -Board raft races -Paddle jousting
