Westgate to Willi Intermediate Social Paddle.    Join us for our next Intermediate social paddle from under the Westgate bridge to Gem Pier in Williamstown. We’ll paddle through to Gem Pier for a coffee stop, before paddling back upstream to our start point.   Fitness required: Medium level fitness is required.    Distance: 8-10kms. You may work up a sweat on the return paddle back upstream, due to the currents.    Skill level:  Intermediate paddlers. This isn’t a beginner friendly paddle. You must be a confident paddler. We’ll encounter boat wake, some turbulent water and firm currents.    Safety gear:  Everyone MUST have a PFD/Life Jacket and a Leg Rope.     You must be a confident paddler, as we'll be paddling in the main shipping channel and there can be quite a bit of water movement.   We will monitor all ship movements and stay well clear of any moving ships.    We launch right on 8am, so plan to arrive at 7.30am to set up your board.
